Successful working visit by VU Amsterdam to UT

A warm welcome, 'Twentse Kozakken’ cakes at tea time, a tour of the campus and ‘Krentewegge’ to take home. Employees of VU Amsterdam were warmly welcomed by UT colleagues during their working visit to Enschede on 22 September. The visit made it possible to meet colleagues 'live' again and full advantage was taken of this. VU Amsterdam researcher Meike Morren was one of the participants.

School Trips

'We gathered at the VU Amsterdam campus and boarded the bus complete with packed lunches. Memories of school trips from the past sprung to mind. During the drive to Twente, we got extensively acquainted and I had some great conversations with several people. In Enschede, we were welcomed by Vinod Subramaniam and a group of UT students who showed us their great projects such as a hydrogen-powered car. After a deliciously and typically Twente sweet treat, the various projects and meetings began. Among other things, I took part in a tour of the campus in a kind of golf cart and also visited the manager of a COOP supermarket with whom we will set up a collaboration. Before heading for the bus, I had a nice dinner and talked to several people. The bus trip back to Amsterdam was considerably calmer and gave me time to reflect and take notes from a very successful day.'

Two more working visits will be organised next year. On Tuesday 4 april 2023 from 14.00 - 19.00 hours, the UT will visit VU Amsterdam. On Wednesday  22 november from 14.00 - 19.00 hours, VU Amsterdam will visit the UT. Suggestions for activities are welcomed by Amir Ametovic and Maria Mennen.
