Pupils, students and staff positive about collaboration

85% of the staff and more than half of the students at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and the University of Twente are very positive about the collaboration between the two universities. Among pupils, over a third finds the collaboration very interesting. This is according to a market survey conducted in November 2022 among pupils, students and a number of VU Amsterdam and UT staff involved in the collaboration.

Using questions on familiarity, associations, the collaboration and communication statements, both universities want to gain a better understanding of how best to profile the joint programmes when recruiting pupils. The survey offers great insight into opinions from the three surveyed target groups. This provides input for the longer-term strategy.

Rising awareness through 2nd bachelor VU Amsterdam-UT

Among pupils, 21% are aware of the collaboration between VU Amsterdam and the UT; among students this is 43%. Now that we offer a second bachelor's programme at VU Amsterdam (Creative Technology), awareness is bound to rise. We will work hard on this in the coming period with, among other things, the introduction campaign for Creative Technology. Incidentally, 48% of students and 60% of staff think it would be positive if in the future VU Amsterdam also offered courses at the UT.

Creative Technology campaign with different design

Based on the results of the market survey, it was decided to create an introduction campaign for the Creative Technology programme with the UT logo and the text 'Now also in Amsterdam'. By testing this communication expression in practice, handles will be sought for the longer-term positioning.
